androgens are a group of steroid hormones that are responsible for the development of male traits. The best known androgen is testosterone — a hormone that’s responsible for the development of your penis and testes, the deepening of your voice, the growth of your health muscle tissue and bone, and a range of other male secondary sex characteristics.
